Small Dong Bag Guizhou, China Embroidery and appliqué on velvet, cotton and calendared cotton.  10½"x 12½." This bag has silk satin stitch, couched horsetail cording, appliquéd silver foil, small round mirrors with brass bezels, a hand-woven, warp-patterned strap, and the finest cross-stitch border I have ever seen. The motifs include flowers and a  shou character signifying longevity. The bag has two interior pouches and a plain black calendared cotton back. This bag is thought to be over 40 years old.
