Turkmen Coat
Turkmenistan. Circa 1900.  45½" long.

Silk embroidery on silk with finger-looped edge band; lined with cotton print. This embroidered coat still has the cord attached which held the two sleeves together in the back, when the garment was worn as a cape. This cord can of course be removed if desired, and the piece worn as a coat. The decorative red silk gussets on the back are obscured by the sleeves in the photo.  Excellent condition.   $425
