Japanese Uchikake Early Taisho period, circa 1912. Wedding kimono brocaded with silk and gold metallic. Benibana red lining of heavily textured chirimen silk.  Please note that the sleeves on this uchikake are much shorter than on later wedding kimono. The heavy brocade is similar to the weaves used for maru obis of the period.  48"across shoulders; 64"long.
