More raffia cloth embroideries made by Kuba people in the Republic of the Congo. Velvety cut-loop pile forms the majority of the designs; flat stitching is used between pile areas for contrast and detail in most pieces.  Most of the pieces shown on these pages are thought to be around 40 to 60 years old.
